A Step-by-Step Guide: How to Set Up Google Analytics & Install the Tracking Code On Your Website

In today's digital age, data is invaluable for businessesand website owners. Install the MonsterInsights Plugin: Go to your WordPress dashboard, install the MonsterInsights plugin, and activate it.

Connect MonsterInsights to Google Analytics: Follow the plugin's on-screen instructions to connect it to your Google Analytics account. You'll be prompted to authenticate your Google account.

Choose What to Track: Select what you want to track on your website, such as pageviews, events, and eCommerce.

Complete Setup: Finish the setup process, and the tracking code will be added to your site automatically.

For HTML Websites:

Access Your Website's HTML: Open your website's code using a code editor or through your hosting platform.

Insert the Tracking Code: Locate the <head> section of your HTML code and paste the tracking code provided by Google Analytics just before the closing </head> tag.

Save and Publish: Save the changes to your HTML file and publish it to your web server.

For Other Platforms:

If you're using a different content management system (CMS) like Wix, Squarespace, or Joomla, check their specific documentation or consult the platform's support for instructions on installing Google Analytics.

Step 3: Verify Installation

After you've installed the tracking code, it's essential to verify that it's working correctly. To do this, go back to your Google Analytics account and navigate to the "Admin" section. Under the "Property" column, click on "Tracking Info" and then "Tracking Code." Here, you can check the tracking status to ensure it's active.

Once you've set up Google Analytics and installed the tracking code, it's time to start analyzing the data.
